Simple Delights at Algorfa Village

Algorfa is a small village located in Vega Baja with lush countryside. The Segura River runs through the village with a majestic mountain backdrop and a wonderful view of the sea. There is constant sunshine at Algorfa with a moderate 19 degrees Celsius and a low rainfall.

Such pleasant climate attracts sun lovers as well as sea surfers for a holiday.

Town offerings

The village of Algorfa enjoys a fertile countryside that produces oranges and lemons. These citrus trees are easily seen along the road. This quaint Spanish village is vibrant with a rich culture and steep traditions although it has only 1,800 residents.

Many historical artifacts have been discovered to prove the early settlers which date back to 3,000 BC. This includes the discovery of Neolithic human remains in 1903.

Algorfa has always been active in agriculture which forms its basis of survival.

Algorfa residents are very hospitable. They welcome all visitors to their village at any time especially at their local celebrations at Algorfa.  There are many local festivals and fiestas which are celebrated in Algorfa.

Algorfa is simply set up with the town hall as its main focus besides a police station and a church. There are some bars and restaurants to cater to the gastronomical needs of the locals and visitors. There are not too many activities which make Algorfa a great choice for a quiet and peaceful holiday.

Tourists’ delights

Algorfa has a modern recreation centre that offers sports facilities such as tennis, swimming, mini-football and squash to the tourists. A Sunday market proves to be the crowd’s favorite as many interesting bargains can be enjoyed.

Algorfa has an ancient Neo-gothic 19th century church located outside the village. One can enjoy a relaxing discovery of the village’s history with such ancient monuments around it. Some tourists would enjoy the modern 72 Par Golf Club facilities around Algorfa with a 18-hole championship international golf course.

This golf course which opened in 2001 was specially designed by Jose Gancedo.

There are simple but enjoyable activities such as leisure walks or cycling around the town, countryside or beaches in Algorfa. One can drop by Guardamar del Segura which is another small town 15 minutes away by car.

Most tourists to ferienwohnung Tordera Algorfa come by car along highway C3321. They would make a day trip to Algorfa from their base Spanish city or town such as Orihuela. It is a good location to enjoy more of Spain in a different ambience.
